GUARDIANSHIP SERVICES

At Shell Education, we provide caring, reliable and personal guardianship support for international students studying in the UK.

From helping your child choose the right school to providing ongoing guardianship throughout their education, we are here to support students and parents every step of the way.

WHAT IS AN EDUCATIONAL GUARDIAN?

For many international students, UK boarding schools require a parent or guardian who lives in the UK and can provide support when parents are unable to be there.

An educational guardian acts on behalf of the parents and provides support to the student when they are away from school. This can include helping with travel arrangements, accommodation during school holidays or when the school is closed, and providing support in an emergency.

Having a trusted guardian in the UK gives parents peace of mind and ensures that their child has someone they know and trust to turn to when they need help.

PERSONAL SUPPORT FOR EVERY STUDENT

As a small guardianship organisation, we are proud to offer a personal and caring service.

We take the time to get to know every student and their family. We want our students to feel comfortable contacting us whenever they need support, advice or simply someone to talk to.

Our experienced team works closely with students, parents, schools and host families to make sure each student feels safe, settled and well supported throughout their time in the UK.

We are here to help students become confident and independent young adults while making the most of their education and experience in the UK.

FROM SCHOOL PLACEMENT TO GUARDIANSHIP

Shell Education can support families throughout their child's educational journey in the UK.

We can help with:

  • School selection – advice and guidance when choosing a suitable UK boarding school.
  • Guardianship – ongoing support throughout your child's time at school.
  • Host family arrangements – carefully selected accommodation when students need to stay away from school.
  • Travel arrangements – support with journeys between school, airport and host family.
  • Holiday and exeat arrangements – help when students need accommodation outside of term time.
  • Emergency support – someone available to support students when unexpected situations arise.
  • Communication with parents and schools – keeping everyone informed and working together in the best interests of the student.

AEGIS ACCREDITED

Shell Education is AEGIS accredited.

AEGIS is the independent UK body that inspects guardianship organisations against rigorous standards. Accreditation provides reassurance to parents and schools that an organisation has been independently assessed in areas including student care and business practices.

For international parents, choosing an AEGIS-accredited guardianship organisation provides additional confidence that their child is receiving professional and appropriate support while studying in the UK.
